Day 25Earrings: Sweeter Than Me Designs (handmade)
Tank: refashioned
Top: Butterick 7762, me made
Jeans: Thrifted
I made this top last night using one of my very favourite patterns: Butterick 7762. I have made another one from flannel that I love and I wanted to give this stripey knit a try. I love the bateau neckline, the 3/4 sleeves, and the comfortable tunic length.
What I don't like is working with knits. I know many people out there are going to think I'm nuts, but knits are just not for me. I am pretty pleased that the stripes lined up on the sleeves:

It's a very comfortable top and I can see it becoming a very useful layering piece in my wardrobe. It will be great to thrown on when I need a light cover up. I am planning on making another version of this top from Moorish Tile in Fire from Patty Young's (now discontinued) Andalucia collection.

I've yet to work with knits myself and I'm dreading it, but the day must come! Anyways, it is very cute and beachy and nautical and all that, therefore, I like it! I thought the sleeves were all-in-one so there you go!
I have made many knit shirts for my kids when they were very small, but haven't attempted anything for me....yet.
This looks lovely - I love the matching stripes! Great job! We all have our favorite fabrics don´t we? I like the result of knitwear, I tend to wear it a lot as one layer, but cutting out knit fabric is not my favorite thing in the world, to put it that way... Cotton sateen and corduroy, on the other hand - now there are some favorite fabrics for cutting! :-)
I love this top! I love knits, i'm not keen on cutting them out though. Have a great weekend!
Oh my gosh, you are reading my mind. Or I'm reading yours! :D I just pulled a navy/white stripe knit from stash to make this very pattern! I'm not fond of knits either. But this stripe is perfect (as is yours!)
I'm also gonna make the pants...I muslined t hem this morning because I've been in love with yours since the polka dot shorts. :)
Very nice!! I love stripes
Wow, the striping on the sleeves is great!
