I wanted to make a fall-weight dress, as I recently discovered I have a distinct lack of cool weather frocks. I lined it in a rich purple cotton which will more than keep me warm enough, due to my love of layering. I matched up the plaid using Colette Patterns' tutorial.
Speaking of Colette Patterns, it was a complete happy accident that my drafted sleeves are quite similar to their Jasmine! I love how Sarai and Caitlin are always plugged right in to what seamstresses want.
How are you doing with FESA? What are you working on now?

This is a gorgeous dress, perfect for autumn layering. x
The sleeves are adorable, and this is one successful dress! I love it.
I haven´t started my FESA-sewing yet, as I am finishing off some summer sewing first. I really hope to get started soon, though! :-)
Love it! The fabric is amazing and it looks great on you. Now I want one. :)
I really like this dress! I have not made a single Sorbetto anything yet. I really want to and this dress is inspiring me to do so.
I love it! Very "back to school" - even "too cool for school". :-) I too love the Sorbetto and like the idea of doing it with sleeves, but haven't ever really drafted a pattern. How did you come up with the sleeves?
Lovely first garment! I finished my first thing too, a refashioned denim skirt. And I'm partway through my first blouse--hoping to get some time on that today. I'll at least get some knitting in today, as my Labor Day plans are hanging out with a friend and doing yarncraft!
Sarah,
Your dress is awesome! I love the purple plaid! Looks great on you, too!

Thank you so much for your lovely comments, everyone!
@MommyenFrance - I used the sleeve template from The Sew Weekly and simply lengthened that to my elbows. Easy peasy!
Here's the link for the sleeve pattern: http://www.sewweekly.com/2011/08/revised-sorbetto-sleeve.html
Seriously love this. The plaid is sooooo pretty, and you never cease to amaze me with your Sorbetto creations! Fab. U. Lous.
Thank you so much, Megnificence!
