I do delight in the opportunity to wear a pretty fascinator, this one being one of my favourites. The tunic is from Lisette 2245, View A. Like her Oliver + S line, Liesl Gibson has designed a great series of patterns! The tunic went together quickly with some interesting construction techniques.
The kimono-style sleeves and pockets are two of my favourite design elements. Kimono sleeves are super comfortable and I do like how the pockets are cleverly incorporated into the tunic.
I like how the neckline is sewn together in a way that both eliminates flapping facings (argh!) and excess raw edges. It is quite crisp and comfortable.
The tunic is very comfortable to wear; simply pop it on and go! It layers easily, as well, which is a big bonus in our temperamental fall weather. I love it layered over leggings, as I'm wearing here, and I know I'll wear it over skinny jeans as the weather cools.
How are you getting along with FESA? What are you working on currently? Have you made something for Spanish Harlem week, too? I'd love to see!

I am entering this tunic into Stitched in Color's Celebrate Colour contest for this month. I have already entered my knit Macaron. Wish me luck as this month's prizes are fantastic!

Love it, so cool! I really liked how she did the pocket construction too - ingenious :)
I do wish you luck on your stitched in color entry my dear. You certainly deserve a prize for your fearless use of color.
For fesa I am working on my jasmine blouse. The muslin is cut out, and now its time to sew.
Sarah, This is an awesome tunic, love your fabric and your style. Good luck with the contest, I believe this is a winner!
I love tunics -especially for weekend wear. Yours is so colourful and beautifully made as always
Oh it looks great, love it! Good luck with the competition, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you
Gorgeous, Sarah! The fabric choice is so great, you are really building up a cheerful and pretty handmade wardrobe to take you through the colder months. Nice work!
How cute, I love your fabric choice! That fascinator is very pretty!
I'm working on a Macaron for the Sew Weekly theme...
Thanks so much for all of your lovely comments! :)
Hi, Sarah.
I'm doing the knitalong that you and Kristen are hosting. I've been trying to do the lace swatch, and I had a question about reading the chart. I posted on the Flickr group and on Kristen's blog a few days ago but haven't heard anything...so I was just wondering if you could help me or get someone else to help? :) My question is too long to ask here, but it's the newest one under discussions in the group.
Thanks so much!
Kristin
You wear your new tunic well -- I especially like the neckline detail.
