I am really happy with this tunic! I am also happy that it coincides with The Sew Weekly's Spanish Harlem theme! Taking photos for this one was hilarious as Mr. Friday was running about screeching "Maria!!" at the top of his voice and spontaneously breaking into "When You're a Jet." That man is certifiable, let me tell you!
I do delight in the opportunity to wear a pretty fascinator, this one being one of my favourites. The tunic is from Lisette 2245, View A. Like her Oliver + S line, Liesl Gibson has designed a great series of patterns! The tunic went together quickly with some interesting construction techniques.
The kimono-style sleeves and pockets are two of my favourite design elements. Kimono sleeves are super comfortable and I do like how the pockets are cleverly incorporated into the tunic.
I like how the neckline is sewn together in a way that both eliminates flapping facings (argh!) and excess raw edges. It is quite crisp and comfortable.
The tunic is very comfortable to wear; simply pop it on and go! It layers easily, as well, which is a big bonus in our temperamental fall weather. I love it layered over leggings, as I'm wearing here, and I know I'll wear it over skinny jeans as the weather cools.
