Sew Colette 2.0 August Project Winner!

Wow, everyone! Thank you so much for all of your votes! It's really amazing to see so many people involved and Erin, Rochelle, and I couldn't be more delighted!

We are pleased to announce that our Sew Colette 2.0 project for August is the Macaron!  Macaron is one of my favourite dresses and my knit version is one of my fall/winter favourites.  I am really looking forward to making a summer version of this dress.

Macaron has so many pretty details and plenty of opportunity for customization.   This sweet floral sleeveless version by Irene is ideal for the warm summer weather.

For those of you in the southern hemisphere, Alessa of Farbenfreude has made one of my very favourite versions of Macaron:  plaid with knit yoke and long sleeves.

Kamikat is picnic-ready in her Rockabilly-inspired Macaron.  I really like that she used gingham for the yoke and sleeves.

What plans do you have for your Macaron?  Are you going to remain faithful to the pattern or tweak it to suit your style or the season?  We'd love to know!

My favorite version of this dress so far has been Eunny Jang's. I really like the dress too, but I'm not always wild about the strapless dress over a t-shirt look, so I love how she worked with the gingham fabric to make it uniform & still pop.

I ran out & bought gingam just to do the same thing my pattern, if I ever get to it!

yay! I love the (and your :) ) Macaron dress! I have already made one and too it fitted with no alterations at all so I'll be joining in to make another one. My Macaron is black and minty green (http://ingemaakt.wordpress.com/2012/04/08/de-jurk-die-meteen-paste/) and my new one will be in olive green cotton sateen with dark green/grey sleeves and waistband. I'm looking forward to the start!

Yipee! I was so hoping this would be the project, especially since I feel the need to have a reason to justify buying a new pattern for myself. I love the solid top/plaid dress version, so that just might be the route I take for mine.

I'll probably remain faithful to the pattern, but the goal is to wear it to a wedding at the beginning of September. This would be a great challenge for that purpose!

I'm so excited! I've been waiting for an excuse to sew up this pattern. I couldn't quite get the motivation on my own. I have my fabric and pattern just waiting to get started.

Hi there,
I missed the first pattern, but I really want to join in on Maracon. Do you guys know if wool challis would work for this dress? I want to make it for fall. Thanks!

Thanks for the feature, Sarah! :) As I already have three Macarons in my wardrobe, I may have to take a pass at this one, although I'm still thinking about making one with a lace yoke...

These Macaron versions are lovely. I love Kamikat's the best.
I'm going to make a formal version for an upcoming wedding at the end of August. I'll be tweaking it for fit this weekend.
