Many of you may not know that I am a very enthusiastic Olympic fan. I am a proud supporter of both the Canadian and British Olympic teams in a nod to my heritage. I am a big fan of tennis, gymnastics, rowing, and cycling. When those events are on, I am glued to my TV.
As someone who frequently takes my crafting pursuits to the Olympic level, participating in Ravelry's Ravellenic Games 2012 was a no-brainer. Make pretty things whilst cheering on my teams? You bet! My project is a stash-buster and I'll be making these pretty fingerless gloves:
The Mass Cast On begins at the Opening Ceremonies on Friday, July 27th. For me, that means I'll be casting on at 2:00 p.m. EST. Are you an olympic crafter? Come and join the Ravellenic Games! We need a Team Colette!

This looks so fun! Too bad I have a crazy amount of sewing to do right now. :(
ooh, is that the official new name of the Ravellry Olympics? I like it! Happy knitting... I hope that by the next Olympics there is a sewing version! :)
It definitely sounds fun! I've never really been into the Olympics (I'm not a sports person), but I would probably participate if we still had TV. Which we don't. :)
At first glance, I thought those were the same fingerless gloves I had in my Ravelry queue, but the ones I'm planning on knitting are a bit different (http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/kiss-kiss-mitts).

Team Colette - I love it! I wasn't planning on starting any new knitting projects, but I think I can be persuaded. :)
I signed up yesterday, let me know if there will be a Team Colette, I will join!!
I was thinking about doing this and was going to start browsing for teams, so if there will be a Team Colette, let me know!
