It's been a bit like Christmas around here lately! A marvellous package of goodies arrived from my favourite organic bath and beauty shop - Mirasol Farm. In it were some perennial favourites, like Wild Orange soap, and some brand new products, like Litsea & Avocado. I always enjoy shopping with Casey and Olga. Their products are made with spectacular locally grown and organic ingredients, essential oils, and herbs.
Lemon is one of my favourite scents. I have the Lemon Chamomile body and linen spray, which I love, and decided to treat myself to some foaming soap of the same scent. This soap comes in a pretty cobalt blue bottle and feels luxurious on the skin. The scent is just perfect - light and fresh and never overpowering. I made sure to pick up a refill for the soap, too - a whole 16 oz worth!
Mirasol Farm's handmade soaps are without peer. I have tried many, many paraben/sulfate-free brands and I always come back to Mirasol. Oak Moss was in this package, which happens to be Mr. Friday's favourite. It's a warm, woodsy blend of oak moss absolute and other luxurious essential oils. The results is a spectacular soap that reminds me of Northern Ontario forests. Bliss!
Casey and Olga surprised me with three new soaps: absinthe, juniper & sage, and litsea & avocado. Absinthe is a spicy, licorice-scented soap that will definitely appeal many. Juniper & Sage is another woodsy, warm scent that reminds me of cedar forests with a quiet splash of sage.
Litsea & Avocado is a spectacular new blend that I am fast falling in love with. It has a citrus-fresh scent that is both soft and refreshing. The avocado oils give it a lovely depth that makes my skin that much softer. As I have sensitive skin, this blend is ideal! The Litsea lotion is thick and creamy. It leaves no residue and my skin feels lovely and soft. The scent, as I said before, is subtle and quite feminine.
As the hot and muggy weather is still in full force, I also picked up a bottle of natural insect repellent and sting relief. It smells lovely and works like a charm!

In the years since I have switched to organic and paraben/sulfate-free products, I have noticed a huge difference, not only in the condition of my skin, but also in my health. I am by no means an expert - I am neither dermatologist or physician - but I speak from personal experience.
My skin is naturally sensitive and since making the switch, it is softer and much less prone to dryness and breakouts. I also find that I am much, much less prone to headaches, as well as migraines, since eliminating sulfates from our home.
I would highly recommend using Mirasol Farm products, as they are handmade in small batches, use locally grown and organic ingredients, and are completely sulfate- and paraben-free. As an added bonus, their products are vegan-friendly. Shop Mirasol Farm today!
